Echuca Moama Celtic Festival is thrilled to announce that one of the world's leading experts on St. Patrick will visit Echuca Moama to celebrate St. Patrick's Day this year. The delightful Dr Tim Campbell is a wonderful ambassador for Ireland and with St. Patrick's Day fast approaching, he will provide all the necessary insights to ensure you know everything there is to know about the world's favorite saint. Dr Tim Campbell is the director of the Saint Patrick Centre in the town of Downpatrick, Northern Ireland, where the saint is buried. It is the only permanent exhibition in the World dedicated to Ireland's Patron Saint and one of the top tourist destinations in Ireland. Situated in the heart of Saint Patrick's Country, beside Down Cathedral and Patrick's Grave, it is the central hub worldwide, for all things St. Patrick.
The St. Patrick Centre also provides educational programmes for young ambassadors who attend the centre from various parts of the world to gain a greater understanding of St. Patrick, his mission and Northern Ireland. Through its varied programmes the Centre seeks to promote reconciliation and charity, one of St. Patrick’s goals.
Echuca Moama are twin towns of Victoria and New South Wales divided by the Murray River. The towns are situated on the junction of the Northern and Murray Valley Highs of Victoria and the Cobb Highway of New South Wales. By car it is a three hour drive from Melbourne, and well serviced by rail and bus services from Melbourne. The Echuca Moama Celtic Festival is in its fourth year and this year will be held over the weekend of 16 – 18 March 2012.
