Echuca-Moama Celtic Festival Committee
info@celticfestival.com.au

Echuca and Moama are twin towns on the Murray River, two and half hours drive from Melbourne. At one time Echuca was the busiest port outside of Melbourne with the primary produce being transported by river boats to Echuca for overland transport to Melbourne. The twin towns now attract many visitors to view the old Port precinct and to ride one of the many side-wheel paddle steamers operating on the river, or to take in some of the other entertaining attractions.
Echuca Moama has also become known for its festivals of jazz and blues music and now will include a Celtic Festival of music and dance.
The 2010 Celtic Festival is being planned by an enthusiastic committee of volunteers drawn from a cross section of Echuca Moama, sponsored by the Echuca Moama Business and Trades Association Inc. The committee has worked diligently to bring together some of Australia’s great Celtic Bands, singers and dancers.
The twin towns have accommodation facilities that include luxury apartments, bed and breakfast, quality motels, resorts and camping, catering for everyone’s needs. There is no shortage of places to eat in restaurants, clubs, hotels or fast food outlets.
The twin towns have shown themselves to be hospitable and that has attracted people to make regular trips to holiday and to relax. The Echuca Moama Celtic Festival provides a good opportunity to enjoy the welcoming hospitality while enjoying the experience of the variety of music and dance.
