Sunday 7th March- Australian Welsh Male Choir

Start Time: 2.00pm

The choir has a rich history of over thirty years of concert performance from the
Sydney Opera house, London’s Royal Albert Hall, concert tours of Tasmania and
New Zealand to small rural townships and city suburbs in Victoria.
As a registered charity, the choir seeks to bring pleasure to communities through the
joy of singing but at the same time helps raise funds for needy causes in local
communities.This year the choir has invited two outstanding instrumentalists, Edward Antonov, balalaika, and Tom Buchanan, pianist, to perform with the choir.

Venue: Paramount Theatre, High Street Echuca.

Presented by: Brenda Grimshaw - Celtic Artist featuring her interpretation of the

illustrations of the Book of Kells. The Book of Kells is an illuminated manuscript in Latin,containing the four Gospels of the New Testament together with various prefatory
texts and tables. It was transcribed by Celtic monks around 800. The Book of Kells is kept on display in the Trinity College Library Dublin

A second edition copy of the Book of Kells will be on display courtesy of Mr David Piggott. Presented by: Kevin Williams - Koori Artist of world acclaim with some of his
paintings exhibited in Parliament House, Canberra

                        Topic: Celtic Music - Its Uniqueness and Diversity
                       John has recently been to Ireland and Spain researching the true nature
                       of Celtic songs of these regions which will provide participants with an
                     interesting and entertaining understanding of the topic.

                      - Two 1hr sessions Time: 2.00pm & 3.00pm
                       Topic: Children’s Scottish Country Dancing - Beginners Class
                       A workshop for complete beginners and would give children a “taste” of
                       Scottish Country Dancing. Children will require soft shoes and a drink. The
                      workshop will last for an hour.
                      The first session will cater for grade 3/4 children and the second session for
        grade 5/6 children.

Topic: Sean no’s Singing

                     This is a specific type style of unaccompanied singing in the Irish language of
                       which Maria will provide a basic understanding of this form of singing as well
                       as learning songs in both Irish and English languages.
